High School of Love - Chapter 1

The summer has ended, and the classes have started. It was finally the last year of High School. Mordecai and Rigby were tired, as they woke up too early. Rigby was in a bad mood, complaining about school - the difficult exams, boring classes... Mordecai wished to shut Rigby's mouth, as he was also in a bad mood. He hated to listen to Rigby complaining about everything. They were walking at the school's hall.

"Ugh, seriously dude! I can't believe summer is over! I hate school so much!" Rigby complained.

Mordecai wasn't looking at Rigby. It was so annoying when Rigby started complaining...

"Shut up, dude... Just shut up." The blue jay thought, annoyed.

However, someone caught Mordecai's attention. He stopped walking. Rigby also stopped, wondering why did his friend suddenly stopped paying attention to him.

"Mordecai? Dude, what's wrong with you?" Rigby asked, as he noticed that Mordecai was distracted.

Mordecai was making a surprised face. He even blushed a little.

"What the hell is wrong with him?" Rigby thought.

Mordecai was staring at a girl - actually, a female bird. She was a red robin. She had a very long hair, and she was a bit shorter than Mordecai. She was wearing a purple t-shirt and blue jeans. She was putting her books in her locker. She was probably the most beautiful girl Mordecai has ever seen.

"Oh my god." The blue jay thought.

Rigby looked at his friend, worried. Then, he noticed why Mordecai was so distracted.

"Mordo's in love?" He asked, mocking Mordecai.

Mordecai stopped staring at the girl.

"What? What are you talking about?" Mordecai asked, embarassed.

"Oooooh! Mordo's in love! Mordo's in love!"

Mordecai gets mad at Rigby.

"Shut up, dude!" He said, angrily, while punching Rigby's arm.

"OUCH!" Rigby yelled.

The girl looked at Mordecai. He looked at her too. She smiled at him.

"He's pretty cute.." The girl thought. "Oh wait, the class will start soon. I better go."

Then she looked away, closing her locker. She walked away.

"Dude, go talk to her." Rigby said.

"What? No way, Rigby. She's going to think that I like her.." Mordecai blushed.

"Ugh, stop with this whole shyness. Come on."

Rigby grabbed Mordecai's arm and pulled him.

"Dude, no!" Mordecai said, trying escape.

"Geez dude! Just chill. You will just TALK to her. It's not a big deal."

They got closer to the girl, who was still walking.

"Hey, uh... red girl!" Rigby said.

The girl stopped walking and looked at them.

"Hey. My name's Rigby, and this is my friend Mordecai." Rigby said, smiling at her.

"Nice to meet you." The girl said, smiling too. "My name is Margaret."

Mordecai fell in love with her voice. Such a beautiful voice...

"Uh... nice to meet you too, Margaret.." He said, embarassed.

She smiled at him. Mordecai was quiet, and blushing. He didn't know what to say.

"So uh... are you new here?" He asked.

"Yeah.. my parents sent me here because the last school I studied got closed. I still don't really know why.."

"Oh, that sucks.."

"Yeah.." Margaret said, looking away.

Rigby noticed that they were both kind of uncomfortable talking to each other. Probably because they liked each other...

"So, uh..." Margaret said. "I need to go to my classroom before I get late. What if we sat together at the lunch break?"

"Yeah, that'd be great.."

"Great!" She said, smiling. "See you at the break then."

She walked away. Mordecai stared at her walking.

"Man, she's so beautiful..." Mordecai thought, blushing.

Rigby noticed that Mordecai was distracted again. He chuckled a bit.

"Mordo's in love." He whispered. Mordecai looked away, annoyed.

"Shut up."

The school's alarm rang.

"Oh crap! We're going to get late!" Mordecai said, realizing that the class was almost getting started.

"Geez, who cares about that?"

Mordecai ran as fast as he could.

"Ugh!" Rigby complained.

Rigby ran after Mordecai. They got into the class right when the school alarm rang, for the last time.

"We did it." Mordecai said, relieved.

"Yeah yeah, whatever." Rigby said, sweating.

Mordecai got surprised as he saw Margaret in the classroom, talking with her friend. Her friend looked like a human.. But Mordecai saw her tail, and he realized that she was a mole. She wore glasses, and she had a brown hair. She was as short as Rigby. She was wearing a blue t-shirt and blue jeans too.

Margaret saw Mordecai too. Luckily, there was a free table next to her. Mordecai went to sit there, and Rigby sat in a table behind him.

"What a coincidence!" Margaret said, smiling. "We are at the same class!"

"Yeah.."

Mordecai blushed a little. Rigby looked at him, chuckling.

"Lucky, huh?" He whispered.

Mordecai looked away, a bit angry.

It was the science class. The teacher was talking about worms. Most of the students were almost sleeping, since they didn't care about worms, except for Margaret and her mole friend, called Eileen. They were pretty smart and they studied a lot.

Even Mordecai was bored, and he was not a student like Rigby, who kept getting distracted and sleeping in the middle of the class.

"In McDonald's, the worms are used to make their burgers..." The teacher said, writing in the blackboard with a chalk: Cow + worm = burger

"EWWWWW!" The girls screamed, disgusted.

Mordecai was almost sleeping. Like the others, he didn't care about worms.

Since he was bored, he looked at Margaret, who was paying attention. Mordecai really liked her hair - it was such a long hair. He also loved her voice, her eyes... basically everything about her.

"Man, she's so pretty..." He thought, smiling at her, even though she wasn't seeing.

Margaret was paying attention to the class. After a while, she noticed that Mordecai was staring at her. He looked away, embarassed, hoping that she didn't see him looking at her.

"Oh crap. Crap, crap, crap..." He thought, embarassed.

Margaret looked at the teacher again, who was still explaining how it was to make a McDonald's burger, using worms. Mordecai looked at her again, to see if she wasn't suspicious.

"Oh thank god." He thought, relieved.

Margaret looked at him again. She smiled at him. Mordecai smiled at her too. They smiled at each other for a while, until the teacher noticed that they weren't paying attention.

"Er... Margaret Smith, please." The teacher said.

Margaret stopped smiling at Mordecai, embarassed.

"Oh, uh... I'm sorry." She said, nervously.

"Hm... Now the 'love birds' expression makes a lot of sense now." The teacher said, making fun of Mordecai and Margaret, sarcastically. Everyone else ( except for Eileen ) chuckled at them. Some of the students even yelled:

"OOOOH, you got busted!"

Even Rigby was making fun of Mordecai and Margaret. Mordecai looked at him, making an angry face.

"Dude!" Mordecai whispered, angrily.

"Everyone, please be quiet." The teacher said.

He continued explaining about the burgers, while Mordecai tried to not look at Margaret. She was so pretty - he couldn't just stop staring at her. But if he looked at her again, the teacher would fight with him. Margaret tried to not look at Mordecai, too. Some students ( including Rigby ) were still chuckling.
